Ruben Amorim backs Man United to “get many wins” despite poor start

Manchester Manager Ruben Amorim

Manchester United’s winless run continued with a 1–1 draw against Fulham, but Ruben Amorim insists his side are on the right path.

United took the lead when Bryan Mbeumo’s corner deflected in off Rodrigo Muniz, only for Emile Smith Rowe to equalise for the hosts late on. Bruno Fernandes had earlier blazed a penalty over the bar after a strange clash with referee Chris Kavanagh disrupted his routine.

Amorim, who has now won just 7 of his 29 league games in charge (24.1% win rate), admitted his team “can do better” but praised their effort and work rate.

“We want to win so badly… after our goal, we stopped playing how we should. But the players worked very hard, and I am confident we are going to get many wins,” Amorim told Sky Sports.

Fernandes echoed his frustration, admitting his penalty miss was “a very bad hit on the ball” but expressed disappointment that the referee did not apologise for disrupting his routine.

Despite the frustrating result, Amorim remains bullish:

“The players know the demands of this club. They are working really hard in training. I’m very confident the wins will come.”
