Liverpool injury update: Frimpong out, Bradley returns to training

Frimpong Injury Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has confirmed that summer signing Jeremie Frimpong will be sidelined until after the international break, while Conor Bradley has returned to first-team training.

Frimpong was withdrawn during the Reds’ 4-2 win over Bournemouth after suffering a hamstring issue. Slot revealed it was the medical team’s call to take him off, and it prevented a longer layoff:

“The medical team was completely right about Jeremie to tell me they had to take him off, because he is out until the end of the international break. A good call, otherwise he would have maybe been out for longer.”

Meanwhile, right-back Conor Bradley has stepped up his recovery and trained with the squad this week after missing the Community Shield and the league opener.

Elsewhere, Joe Gomez made his return against Bournemouth, but Slot stressed he will be carefully managed after his own recent injury:

“Joe Gomez is training with the team, so let’s see where he is on Monday. It was already quite a lot for him to play 20 minutes, but he is progressing well.”

With both Frimpong and Bradley recovering, Slot highlighted Liverpool’s flexibility, noting that Endo, Szoboszlai, and Gomez can all provide cover in the right-back role if required.
