Everton have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Jack Grealish on a season-long loan, with the 29-year-old winger set to undergo his medical later today.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Grealish has given the green light to join David Moyes’ Everton project, with the deal expected to be completed within the next 24 hours. The move will provide a fresh start for the England international after a challenging spell at the Etihad.
A New Chapter for Grealish
Everton have agreed a deal to sign Manchester City winger Jack Grealish on loan for the upcoming season, multiple reports have confirmed.
Grealish dazzled upon his return to the Premier League with Aston Villa in the 2019–20 season, producing two years of electric form that earned him a record-breaking £100 million move to City in 2021. While he collected plenty of silverware in Manchester, his individual impact has faded, with limited minutes over the last two campaigns.
Last season, he started just seven Premier League games and was left out of City’s squad for the Club World Cup—signalling the beginning of the end for his time with the 2023 Champions League winners.
According to The Athletic, the loan deal includes an option to buy worth £50 million next summer. The Times has reported that Everton are prepared to cover a large majority of Grealish’s £300,000-a-week wages to secure the signing.
England Ambitions & Everton’s Busy Summer
For Grealish, this move is a chance to earn regular minutes and push for a place in England’s squad for next summer’s World Cup.
Everton have already been active in the market, securing Thierno Barry, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carlos Alcaraz, Adam Aznou, and Mark Travers as Moyes looks to build on the club’s strong finish to last season.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are also in talks over selling Brazilian winger Savinho, with Tottenham Hotspur making an approach but needing to increase their offer to meet City’s £50 million asking price.
