Chelsea are pushing forward in talks to sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, but that’s not where the transfer business stops. According to multiple reports, including The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano, there’s a “concrete possibility” that Chelsea will also move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho this summer.
Simons First, Garnacho Still in Sight
While Xavi Simons remains the priority for Chelsea’s attacking rebuild, his potential arrival would not eliminate the club’s interest in Garnacho.
💬 “There is a concrete possibility,” said Fabrizio Romano on DAZN, when asked about Garnacho’s Chelsea links.
Chelsea had already made contact over Garnacho in January, and although the signing of Jamie Gittens from Dortmund earlier this month made the move seem unlikely, things have shifted.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea’s pursuit of Garnacho could reignite if the club is successful in offloading Christopher Nkunku, who would be blocking Simons’ ideal central role in the squad. If Nkunku leaves, there would be tactical room for both Simons and Garnacho to feature.
Chelsea’s Transfer Outlook
Chelsea are also closing in on a deal for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato, continuing their focus on young, high-potential talent.
To raise funds for these signings, Chelsea are actively trying to offload several players:
- João Félix – joining Al Nassr
- Raheem Sterling – attracting interest after loan return
- Nicolas Jackson – high price tag but available
- Christopher Nkunku – open to offers
Garnacho’s Situation at United
The 20-year-old Argentine winger is reportedly free to leave Manchester United this summer and prefers to stay in the Premier League, making Chelsea a strong option. However, Aston Villa are also keen, and their winger Morgan Rogers is another player Chelsea have an eye on.
