According to Fabrizio Romano, Christopher Nkunku is set to join AC Milan after the clubs reached a verbal agreement in principle. The deal, which is now moving towards the final paperwork stage, will see Chelsea part ways with the French forward just one year after his arrival in London.
Transfer Details
The transfer fee is expected to be in the region of €35 million, with add-ons potentially bringing the total package to around €42 million. Chelsea have accepted an initial fixed fee slightly above €35m, with performance-related clauses included in the agreement.
Nkunku reportedly said yes to a five-year contract with AC Milan yesterday, paving the way for his move to Serie A. Both clubs are set to prepare the documents today to finalize the transfer.
A New Chapter for Nkunku
Nkunku’s time at Chelsea was hampered by injuries, preventing him from becoming a regular starter under multiple managers. AC Milan, however, view him as a key attacking addition and expect him to add creativity and goals to their forward line.
The 26-year-old has long been admired across Europe, and Milan now appear set to secure his signature as part of their long-term rebuild.
