Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, with the England international putting pen to paper on a long-term contract at the Emirates.
The 27-year-old returns to north London, where his football journey first began in the Arsenal academy, before going on to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking midfielders.
Career so far
Eze made his professional breakthrough at Queens Park Rangers, winning the club’s Player of the Year award in 2019/20, which earned him a move to Crystal Palace.
Across five seasons at Selhurst Park, he made over 150 appearances and played a crucial role in Palace’s memorable FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City in May 2025, scoring the winning goal.
On the international stage, Eze represented England’s youth sides before making his senior debut in 2023. He now has 11 caps and was part of the Euro 2024 squad, also netting his first international goal against Latvia in March 2025 during World Cup qualifying.
Reactions
Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta said:
“Eberechi is a creative and explosive talent with huge technical quality – also a big-game player, with his international experience underlining his character. We are confident he will be an important addition as we continue to build for success.”
Manager Mikel Arteta added:
“We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal. He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in attack. His mentality, ambition and journey fit perfectly with what we want in our team. We look forward to working with him soon.”
Number 10 shirt
Eze will wear the iconic number 10 shirt at Arsenal and will join up with his new teammates after this weekend’s Premier League clash against Leeds United.
The move is subject to final regulatory processes, but Arsenal fans can already start looking forward to seeing their new star in action.
