Man Utd Eye Baleba Move but Brighton Stand Firm
Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester United are continuing their push to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, with potential player sales key to improving their bid.
United’s initial approach has been made, but the deal is proving difficult. Brighton are keen to keep the 20-year-old until at least 2026 before considering a sale.
Sources suggest United could increase their offer if they generate funds from outgoing transfers. Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Jadon Sancho have all been linked with possible exits, which could free up resources for the pursuit of Baleba.
Despite the challenge, Baleba himself is understood to be keen on making the move to Old Trafford.
Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler, however, remains confident the midfielder will stay:
“I am very, very confident Baleba will stay with us.”
With both clubs holding firm, the saga could stretch towards the end of the transfer window.
