Roma Submit £20m Bid for Jadon Sancho as Winger Rules Out Turkey Move

Roma Submit £20m Bid for Jadon Sancho

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United have received an official bid from Serie A side AS Roma for winger Jadon Sancho.

The 25-year-old, who was among five players told to find new clubs this summer, has attracted interest from both Italy and Turkey, but Sancho has made it clear he is not interested in a move to the Turkish Super Lig.

Last summer, Sancho’s career took an unexpected turn when Chelsea agreed a loan deal with an obligation to buy for £25 million. However, after scoring just five goals in 41 appearances, the Blues paid £5m to terminate the permanent clause.

Juventus and Napoli had previously been tipped as potential destinations, but Roma are now leading the race. According to BBC Sport, the Italian giants have “made an offer,” though the financial details were initially unclear. Romano has since revealed that Roma have submitted a £20m proposal, which includes a loan with an obligation to buy under “easy conditions” to trigger the permanent deal.

Manchester United are reportedly open to either a straight sale or a structured loan move. Meanwhile, Roma are also exploring a deal for Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey, though Sancho remains their priority.

The England international has now “opened the door” to joining Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, and discussions with both the player and United are ongoing.

If the deal goes through, Sancho would reunite with former Premier League talents in Serie A and look to revive his career away from Old Trafford.
